Toronto Star – Job Skills Agency Eases Way for Immigrants
Established in 1988 to meet labour market needs in the north part of York Region, Job Skills helps residents reach economic independence, said executive director Nella Iasci. The agency provides employment, newcomer and business services, and programs are also offered in Toronto, Dufferin, Halton and Peel regions. They include help for women returning to the workforce, for youth at risk, foreign trained professionals and older workers. More than 25,000 people turn to the agency annually.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada News Release – Minister Kenney Announces Citizenship Judge Appointment
Laurie Mozeson has been appointed as a Citizenship Judge in Edmonton for a full-time, three-year term, Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney announced today. The appointment is effective October 29, 2012. A barrister and solicitor with Alberta Justice for four years, Ms. Mozeson has 17 years of experience as a prosecutor, both with the federal Department of Justice and the Attorney General of Alberta.

Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney departed Brussels, Belgium yesterday marking the end of his official visit to Europe, which included visits to Ireland, Hungary, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Belgium. Minister Kenney first travelled to Dublin, Ireland, to participate in several immigration recruitment activities. He announced an expansion of the popular International Experience Canada Program and delivered a presentation at the Working Abroad Exposition where more than 50 Canadian companies had some 3,000 jobs on immediate offer.

Instead, he chose to help police and prosecutors take down the criminal organization that forced him to work as a virtual slave on construction sites.
