Ici Lome – Le Maroc met en œuvre la réforme de l’immigration
Le Maroc a annoncé lundi 11 novembre un projet de régularisation du statut de quelque 40 000 immigrants clandestins. Ce programme s’inscrit dans le cadre d’une nouvelle politique de l’immigration au Maroc lancée en septembre pour respecter les accords internationaux. La priorité sera donnée à 850 immigrants considérés comme demandeurs d’asile par le HCR, qui bénéficieront automatiquement des droits de résidence légale. Six catégories supplémentaires de ressortissants étrangers seront couverts par cette opération de régularisation, que le Maroc envisage de lancer du 1er janvier au 31 décembre 2014.

Avec plus 50 formations offertes partout en Ontario (Toronto, Ottawa, London-Sarnia, Windsor, Sudbury, Hamilton, Welland/Ste Catharines/Niagara), on compte plus de 750 immigrants francophones formés et outillés afin de faciliter et de réussir leur intégration à la société d’accueil.

The absence of accountability for the serious violations of human rights and international humanitarian standards during and after the civil war is unacceptable.” Prime Minister Harper made this statement earlier this month, announcing that he would not attend the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Sri Lanka to protest continued human rights abuses by Sri Lanka’s government against its Tamil minority citizens. […] Should Harper continue to take this stand, his next step should be to dismantle the harsh refugee policy that he’s put in place. It’s only logical. There is, after all, a direct correlation between recent changes to Canada’s refugee policy and the human rights situation in Sri Lanka.

For many immigrants, obtaining Canadian citizenship can be a tiring and frustrating ordeal following changes the former Immigration Minister made to the application process. Ruslan Abdullayev has lived in Calgary with his wife and their two children for the past four and a half years after leaving Azerbaijan. […] Abdullayev says his family has been in Canada for the appropriate length of time and should qualify for citizenship. Instead of receiving approval of the application they submitted last year, the family was asked to fill out another application and may have wait an additional two years to receive their official papers. […] With changes implemented by former Immigration Minister Jason Kenney in an attempt to crack down on residency fraud, the application process to apply for citizenship has become increasingly complicated.

Le ministre de la Citoyenneté et de l’Immigration du Canada, Chris Alexander, a annoncé que, dès maintenant, les étrangers tchèques n’auront plus à obtenir un visa de résident temporaire pour entrer au Canada. Les ressortissants tchèques peuvent maintenant séjourner au Canada pour une période maximale de six mois sans visa, comme tous les autres étrangers dispensés de l’obligation de visa. […]Un examen récent de la politique en matière de visas de la République tchèque a permis de constater que le pays remplit maintenant les critères relatifs à la dispense de visa.

[…] L’ambassade du Canada à Manille demeure ouverte et fournit la gamme complète des services de visa, d’immigration et de passeport. Les centres de réception des demandes de visa à Manille et à Cebu sont également ouverts et fonctionnent normalement.
